Dinners

Join us at Zena Forest outside of Salem, Oregon for spring Duff!

Our next Duff Dinner will begin on Sunday May 20, 2012 at 4:30 pm in Zena Forest where forest manager Sarah Deumling practices “Naturmemaesse Waldwirdschaft” or “Near-to-Nature Forestry.” Sarah Deumling will serve as our guide as we embark on a light hike to observe  examples of a sustainable forest in-the-making. Co-host and writer Kristin Kaye will read from her novel-in-progress To Catch What Falls about our relationship to forested landscapes. Katherine Deumling, cooking instructor and owner of Cook With What You Have, will prepare a locally and forest-sourced, rustic, family-style feast that will be awaiting us upon our return from the hike. More readings and discussion will ensue as we navigate the confluence of ideas about words, trees, food and sustainable economies. Tickets are $15. Seats are limited. BYOB/W.
